Laverne Antrobus investigates foetal and infant neuropsychology as she tries to explain the curiosities of baby cognition. She asks how babies perceive the world around them and how they learn to process knowledge, debating whether babies learn only from experience or whether knowledge can be hardwired into their brains. After a look at the theory of biased learning, she shows how a study of premature babies reveals how vital the third trimester of pregnancy is for neurological development
