The therapeutic value of a combined assessment
Bower, Marion (2010) The therapeutic value of a combined assessment. Journal of Social Work Practice, 24 (2). pp. 171-179. ISSN 0265-0533Full text not yet available from this repository.
This paper looks at the value of combining an individual assessment of a child with a family assessment. It demonstrates how an individual assessment can release a child from the scapegoat role in the family. It also examines what happens when a child shows a different aspect of themselves when seen individually. The concept of projective identification is used to understand the clinical material.
