Abstract

This article presents a comparative pilot study using the Rorschach Test and a four-session psychodynamic consultation for adolescents attending an outpatient clinic. The study used a comparative qualitative approach to look at how both approaches can help in the assessment of young people experiencing psychological and emotional difficulties. Specifically, the study assessed whether the Rorschach might be useful for engaging young people in the assessment process and explored whether it could add anything to this process, above and beyond the standard four-session psychodynamic consultation.
