Abstract

A partnership with the British Red Cross (BRC) and the Trauma Service led to Barnard and Jones developing a model of a small team of therapists working alongside BRC caseworkers to see asylum seekers who would otherwise have struggled to access therapeutic services. After an introduction by Stubley, which sets the scene for the work, the authors focus on Bion’s notion of containment as a way of describing the complexity of the work and what is required of and by the therapists to offer it.
